2 Day Qigong Retreat

Friday 3 – Sunday 5 February 2012                               Wellesley Country Park

Taught by Shona Page and Vlado Rashev                           Akatarawa

Dear Qigong Students, Fellows and other interested Persons

This information from Shona and Vlado is to let you know we are holding another 2 day Qigong retreat in February 2012.  We believe this retreat will serve as a great opportunity for many of you whether new or “old” Qigong practitioners.  It could initiate positive changes in many aspects of your life including improvement to physical and mental health and development of the consciousness.  Positive changes will come about through the intensive training and learning programme in the special, purpose-built qifield.

The focus this year is on self healing & healing of the self; taking Ren Xue teachings into our everyday life.

Also for the students, the retreat will be a good opportunity to learn from different Qigong teachers.  There will be other teachers helping us with the retreat.

Qifield

A qifield is a denser than usual concentration of qi within a defined space.  In Zhineng Qigong, a qifield is purposely built by Qigong practitioners through the use of their consciousness.  The function of a qifield is to facilitate positive changes on all levels, in everyone within the qifield. The concept and the use of the qifield is one of the main contributions Zhineng Qigong has made to the science of Qigong as a whole. A qifield is made up of the specific properties of all objects and beings contained in the qifield together with additional qi and information that are added to it.

We will build on the qifield already developed through our own Qigong practice and learning with Yuan Tze, together with the qifield we have built through the previous retreats, group healing sessions, Qigong classes and Qigong courses.  During the retreat we will constantly renew and strengthen the qifield with special information and pure Hunyuan Qi that can help participants bring their body and mind to a more calm, relaxed, natural and joyful state.

Who may attend?

The retreat is open to new students (who have not done Qigong before) and “old” students.  Opportunities will be available for new students to learn the Qigong methods so as to be able to practice with the group.

Main Focus

The main focus of the 2 Day Qigong Retreat is to develop and deepen your practice and understanding of the qigong methods and the art of self healing.  Practicing and learning in a supportive qifield with other students will intensify and extend your practice so the methods deliver positive effects and benefits.  The discipline you will experience during the retreat could become a valuable asset to your ongoing daily practice.  Relevant teaching and instruction will be provided at appropriate times to help you improve and bring your practice to a deeper level.  During the retreat activities will include:

 ·         Tuition in the introductory Zhineng Qigong methods (the 8 Basic Exercises, Lift Qi Up Pour Qi Down and Three Centers Merge Standing Form)*.

·         Practice of all the above plus additional instructions.

·         A specific focus on

·         Practice of still Qigong

·         Theoretical sessions (Ren Xue – theories behind Qigong and the art of self cultivation).

·         Q&A sessions:  You can prepare your questions in advance. If you wish, you can even email them to us in advance.

·         Two group healing sessions for building a qifield to promote good health and a clear mind.

·         Individual healing sessions for those who want one (TBC).

*The tuition sessions will run in parallel with some practice sessions so “old” students can practice while new students learn the methods. Daily Schedule
